Kiwanis Club of Brecksville

The Brecksville Kiwanis Club is a local chapter of Kiwanis International. Service projects are based on local community needs. Members work together to give children the chance to learn, grow and succeed.

Our Club meets at Chippewa Place 7005 Stadium Dr, on Thursdays, at 6:15 PM. Dinner is served followed by a meeting with service projects or speakers. Click here for meeting schedule for 2013-2014.

Empty Bowls

Empty Bowls 2015 will take place on Tuesday, February 10 from 5:00pm-7:30pm at the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center. Tickets are on sale now for a $15 donation to this cause. 100% of your ticket purchase is donated!

Local artists, service organizations, businesses, and community members come together to enjoy a hot bowl of soup and raise money for two deserving food banks, the Brecksville Food Pantry and South Hills Lend a Hand. This idea, known as Empty Bowls was originally created by The Imagine Render Group and "is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger" ( For more information and tickets, click here.

Santa Delivery

The Kiwanis Club of Brecksville is proud to offer Santa’s Delivery Service as an annual activity for the residents of the City of Brecksville. Our aim in presenting this service is to help preserve the tradition of Santa Claus in the eyes, thoughts, and hearts of your children. You can have Santa stop at your home in his sleigh and deliver a gift to your child, children or grandchildren merely by bringing a present properly wrapped and tagged to the Kiwanis Deposit Location. Trick or Trot

Trick-or-Trot is a spooky, Halloween-themed 5K run/walk, family friendly Trick-or-Treating mile, and costume contest! The Saturday before Halloween, “Trick-or-Trot” brings together ghosts, goblins, firefighters and pilots of all sizes to benefit children in our community. For more information, click here.

One of Brecksville’s great traditions, the Kiwanis Annual Horse Show will be held Sunday, August 3rd, 2014 in the Cleveland Metroparks – River Ford Area.

2014 marks the 67th year of this Annual Horse Show. Bring your entire family to enjoy the many Horse Events, including Stick Horse Building and parade for the Children, Antique Carriage Horse Events and Carriage Candlelight Parade, as well as great food and refreshments! Come and spend the day with your Family and Friends. This will be an exciting day for exhibitors and spectators alike!

The Brecksville Kiwanis Horse Show will feature 3 memorial Trophy events: Elton Lube Youth Hi-Point Memorial Trophy, Austin Packard Memorial Trophy, and the Jack Hruby Memorial Trophy. Also featured this year will be an expanded number of Carriage Horse Events with an evening Carriage Candlelight Parade! Come and celebrate Family Day at the Brecksville Kiwanis Horse Show! Tim McDonel Receives Awards

May 2014

Long time member of the Brecksville Kiwanis, Tim McDonel, was recognized by the City of Brecksville as the male “Sr. Volunteer of the Year”. Tim was also awarded the Donald E. Williams Past Kiwanis International President award by the Brecksville Kiwanis Club to thank him for his service not only to the Kiwanis organization, but also to the Brecksville community. The namesake of this award, Donald Williams, the Kiwanis Past International President, was on hand to present this award to Tim. In addition to these honors, Tim was presented with a quilt from the second graders at Highland Dr. Elementary School to thank him for the hours of times he has devoted to the children of the school by volunteering to read to them over the past 10 years.

Barbara Deimling Receives Award

May 2014

Barbara Deimling, the advisor for the K-Kids Club of Assumption since its inception, was awarded a plaque from the club to honor her and to thank her for her service. The K-Kids Club is a Kiwanis sponsored club for elementary school aged children that teaches them the value of community service while developing them into leaders for the next generation. Thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Deimling, the Assumption K-Kids Club maintains a strong membership over 30 students each year and fosters the importance of service within the young people of the community.

2014 Brecksville Kiwanis Scholarship Winners

May 2014

Congratulations to the 2014 Kiwanis Club of Brecksville Scholarship winners. This year the Kiwanis club was able to award seven scholarships for a total of $11,000. The winners were Allen Drown, Patrick Grimone, Milana Zarkovic, Michael Bednarsky, Nicole Michaud, Anthony Guzi, and our top scholarship winner Blythe Cassidy. Thank you students for all that you have done and good luck in your future studies.
